Swimming Lesson Information
Making Waves Swimming Lessons are run by sisters Paige and Brooke and offered in our backyard pool, as either private or semi-private lessons. Having taught both public and private lessons, we really believe that this one-on-one setting increases your child's chances for success. Because of the individual or small group nature of the lessons, we can specifically tailor your child's lessons to increase their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses. It also allows for a better and more trusting relationship between student and teacher.
Each session is two weeks long and is composed of nine 30 minute classes. The nine classes allow eight days to teach and evaluate all the required skills, and the last day to work on any last minute improvements and give a report card. If for some reason a class must be cancelled (bad weather, sickness, etc) we can schedule a make-up class that works for you. Parents are always welcome to stay and watch the lesson. The lessons are provided through the Red Cross, and are taught and evaluated to those standards. At the end of the session, your child will receive a Red Cross progress report.
Instructors
We both have been certified as Water Safety Instructors through the Canadian Red Cross, and lifeguards through the National Lifesaving Society. In addition we are CPR and standard first aid certified.

I'm 21 years old and I've been working as certified swimming instructor and lifeguard for 5 years. This will be my fourth summer teaching backyard lessons. I've always loved to swim and I am dedicated to sharing that passion with my students. I hope that every student I teach finishes their lessons having improved their abilities, but most importantly I want them to have had fun and be able to continue having fun in the water!

I'm 18 years old and going into my third summer teaching backyard lessons. As a certified swimming instructor and lifeguard I have over two years of combined teaching and volunteer experience. Since taking swimming lessons as a child I've loved swimming and had planned on becoming an instructor myself. I'm excited to be able to teach my students and help them develop their own love of swimming.
