Classes Offered

Each of the following classes has a set of standards which must be met in order to pass and progress to the next level. The student must demonstrate the specific skill being evaluated to standard at least 3 times before it can be considered as a pass.

Swim Preschool

Red Cross Swim Preschool is an eight level program for children four months to six years old. This program teaches swimming basics and beginning level skills, combined with games and songs to keep things fun.

Swimmers must meet the criteria for each level in order to pass to the next one. They must also meet the age/size requirements for the levels so that they can succeed in the next level. At the end of each session, swimmers receive a report card, as well as a sticker if they pass the level.

Swim Kids

Red Cross Swim Kids is a ten level program for swimmers 6 years and older. This program teaches swimming techniques and strokes, fitness drills and water safety, in order to improve confidence in the water and strength while swimming.

Swimmers must be able to perform each evaluated skill to the standard the level they are in, before they can pass to the next one. Each level builds on the last, adding techniques to skills previously learned. At the end of each session, swimmers receive a report card, as well as a badge if they pass the level.
